Club Reviews

J.N. “This club has been the entrance for an amazing amount of education and support to improve my fly-fishing skills. After fishing mostly by myself for 30 years, having mentors, instructors, and experienced members have been key to my enjoyment, success, and understanding of the sport, as well as the development of lifelong friendships”. (Club member, 11 years).

A.B. “The club has given me both the opportunity to connect with nature as well as develop a deeper appreciation for the art and science of fly fishing. The enthusiasm of the members to introduce, educate and inform all levels of club anglers through outings, classes, and meetings has made the world of fly fishing easier to digest. Most of all, it’s the friendships, memories, and tales of the ones that got away that keep me coming back. “(Club member, 8 years).

N.B. “I’ve fished more often, caught more and bigger fish since joining the club. I was largely in limbo, not really making much progress for nearly 40 years before that. I’ve made some great friends and traveled to many exciting destinations.” 😀 (Club member, 13 years).

S.C. "I've been fly fishing, off and on, for over sixty-five years and thought I knew everything there was to know; but since joining TVFF, over the past ten years, I realized how much I really didn't know. Starting with the different types of fly rods, material compositions, weights and lengths. I've got more flies that I'll probably ever use in my lifetime, but matching those flies to the hatch, on the water, is the single most important thing of all, and that's where the Entomology class comes in. If you're a beginner to fly fishing, I recommend the Fundamentals class to get you started the right way. Learning the correct techniques of casting methods is the second most important thing in presenting that fly properly". (Club member, 10 years).

L.B. “TVFF has given me the opportunity to take classes and learn so much more about fly fishing. The varied outings that TVFF offers, include not only local fisheries for recreation, but also conservation work within California and other states. Through these activities, I have made many friendships and fished in places that I would probably not have had without the club.” (Club member, 25 years).
