Location Update!! - Shad Darts, Bloody Maria Fly
This month’s Fly Tying get together introduces Shad Darts and the Bloody Maria fly, reflecting a growing interest and to support an upcoming Shad Fishing outing led by Jim Knecht. The focus will be on traditional Shad Darts & the Blood Maria a premier, highly effective American Shad fly pattern developed on the California's Lower American River. The Bloody Maria features a red body, UV pearl tail, and fluorescent chartreuse wire, often tied on a size 10-12 Scud hook (TMC 2457) with a 1/8 gold bead to be fished near the bottom, swung or dead-drifted.
Note, the May Monthly Fly Tying location has been changed to Jim Knecht's home.
