Streamers!

This month we will be tying streamers, specifically the Clouser Minnow and Lefty's Deceiver. These baitfish patterns are effective in both fresh water as well as saltwater. Both of these patterns are very effective and you will want to have them both in your fly box!

Here is the materials list for the evening:

CLOUSER MINNOW:

Hook: Wide Gape Streamer or Clouser hook - Size 2-2/0.
Eyes: Dumbell Bead eyes- Large or 7/32” (color of choice).
Bucktail- 2 colors of choice. (White & Chartreuse or White and Red is recommended.)
Thread: White 50-100 Denier GSP or White 140-210 Denier Traditional Thread.
Super Glue.
Crystal Flash- Color of choice ( pearl is recommended.)
Dubbing or Chenille is optional but can be used to add more volume to the body

LEFTY’S DECIEVER:

Hook: Stinger Hook- Size 2- 2/0.
Thread: Traditional Thread- 140 Denier, Fluorescent Yellow.
Eyes: Living eyes (Color of choice) Medium.
Tail: Saddle Hackle- 3x the length of hook shank, White.
Flash: Pearl Crystal Flash & Flashabou- Medium.
Body: (Optional) Braid- Silver or Pearl; Ice Dubbing Silver or Pearl.
Wing: Bucktail- White.
Overwing: Bucktail, White.
Gills: Crystal Flash- Red.
UV Resin.
