2 day - 2 night stay at Circle 7 with boat rental and fishing on the Fall River.  Includes pre-trip TVFF "clinic" on how to fish the river.

Event Skill Levels:
  • River:  medium stream requiring watercraft or rental boats with motors
  • Wading: none available
  • Hiking: none
  • Catch success rate: high, and challenging for wild rainbows

This is a weekend 2 day, 2 night trip to fish the Fall River on September 3rd- September 4th, 2025.  It consists of sharing the large White House cabin (will sleep 10) located right on the Fall River with rental boats at the Circle7 resort and ranch.  This is a world class spring creek style river emanating from many springs fed by Mt Shasta runoff, and generating over 1 million gallons per day of fresh water.  Arrival will be Friday with beds available Friday and Saturday night with Saturday and Sunday fishing.

The trip will include a shared cabin and motored boat for the two days on the river. Costs are anticipated to be approximately $350 - $400 per person for the two days, and are dependent upon how many people attend for the sharing of total expenses.  Meals are the responsibility for each individual although its likely that we will set up a common kitchen with potluck dinners, morning breakfasts, and sandwiches for the afternoons on the river.  Those costs will be shared among the participants.

The Fall River rainbows (estimated by CFW to be 2,800 to over 5,000 fish per mile) are easily seen in the crystal clear water and are known as hard fighting and stout fish.  A short class will be offered for those attending this trip on how to fish with the "Fall River Twitch" which is required to hook these spooky fish whether with its exceptional dry fly fishery or using indicators or streamers.

The trip will be preceded by a one night no-charge "clinic" for participants on techniques for the Fall River with TVFF members that frequently fish the river.  In addition the presentation from Andrew Harris, or Confluence Outfitters, from two years ago is also available in our Members page for further information on what to expect.  https://www.tri-valleyflyfishers.org/Presentations/

This trip is available for individuals or couples, and the price is per person. Activities for non-fishing attendees are available but are minimal on the ranch itself, and must be planned by each individual as the ranch does not provide such activities.

Cost:

Overall costs are shared by those participating in shared cabins.  The estimated costs for a two night stay with boat rental for each day is approximately $350 - $412 per person sharing the cabin.  The costs do not include meals and do not include any optional guide costs if you choose to hire a guide (highly recommended, but not required).

Full payment of $412.00 is required upon registration which closes August 14th, 2025.  The payments are calculated based on the initial seven (7) participants, and will be reduced by incremental amounts if more than those registered choose to attend (up to 10 total).  The total cost of the facility will be shared across all attending participants.  Incremental refunds will be provided by the TVFF Treasurer in such cases.

Credit Card price: Full price of $412.00 includes the payment by credit card with the 3.0% surcharge for the down payment.  The remaining balance will be communicated when a final headcount is determined and adjusted for the total attendees.

Guests must first register as Club members ($45 annual charge) before registering for this event.  TVFF annual dues qualify you and your qualifying family members (spouse and children under 23) for a full 12 month membership and access to all Club events and full participation.  After registering as a Club member, the above costs for the event will apply.

Fishmeister: Rob Farris (925)286-5502

Accommodations and Food:

Accommodations include shared cabins for 4 to 10 individuals (with full bathrooms).  The cost does not include the customary licenses, fly fishing gear, or meals.  We have rented the main cabin with a kitchen and will schedule joint meals and potlucks.

Members and guests are responsible for their own transportation costs as well.  Carpooling is encouraged.

Gear and Tackle Recommendations:

Rod & line weights/types: 3-5 wt traditional fly rods & reels with floating line.

Leaders and tippet: Usually leaders of 12-15 foot with tippets of 5x – 6x are used. Fishing is typically done with up to 50' of line fished below the boat on surface lines, or via sinking lines and assorted sub-surface flies with shorter casts.

Other gear:  Normal fishing wear. Due to the warm weather Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, are also suggested.

Flies: Flies will vary but can include midges, mayfly nymphs, and caddis. Typical sizes are 16 to 22, using single to three flies rigging. Recent activity suggests small parachute Adams. Pale Morning Duns, and small Elk Hair caddis have been effective.

TVFF Outings protocols are as follows:

·         If you are sick with cold/flu symptoms then we ask you to please stay home

·         We believe in social distancing and require that all members keep a full fly rod distance of at least 6’ distance between parties

·         All attendees should wash and sanitize their hands frequently

TVFF Cancellation Policy:

To sign-up for a TVFF Event  that is currently open for registration and chargeable (as set by the Fishmeister), you must both register and pay online whatever fee is described for that particular Event (trip) at the time of registration. There may be multiple payments required before the trip is actually taken (usually in the case of expensive trips), but it is necessary that you do make payment in the above timely fashion for the initial amount to secure your position on the trip.  However, please note that you are still responsible for the entire amount of the trip if you should need to cancel.

Once you are registered, there are no refunds for chargeable Events and trips.  In the situation that a member is, for any reason unable to attend, they may resell their registration slot to another TVFF member (by first pulling from the waitlist if one exists).  New participants must come first from the waitlist in the order they signed up.  The member cancelling is fully and solely responsible for contacting potential members to replace them and notifying the appropriate Fishmeister.

If an event/trip is fully registered and closed to registration, you may still sign up on the Wait List to be notified if there are any cancellations.  In such a case of registering provisionally on the Wait List, you do not have to pay until such time that you clear the Wait List and are confirmed for participation.
