November Fly Tying Get Together -Foam Grasshoppers

This month's meeting will be Wednesday, November 13, 7-9pm at the Rod and Gun club house. As requested, we are going to tie foam grasshoppers. There must be 50 different patterns out there so we will make it 51. Just bring your favorite grasshopper color craft foam and we will create some unique hoppers. Go on You Tube to get some material and pattern ideas

This meeting is designed as learning / discussion type thing on any subject fly fishing. Where to go, rigging, knots, gear and accessory suggestions,  or what ever else is on your mind.

Material suggestions

•  Hooks       Long shank streamer, long curved TMC 200  size 8 to 12
• Thread      Strong 6/0   Veevus 6/0, Danville flat wax nylon, Ultra thread 140  denier                           
• Craft foam  2mil  tan. yellow, green, brown, gray etc.
• Wing          Molted fiber sheet, turkey feather, deer or elk hair , crystal flash
• Legs           round rubber legs medium, pheasant tail
• Crazy glue    

We do not want to spill or drip on the tables so bring some paper or plastic to put under your work.  The glue with the brush applicator works  well.
