October Fly Tying Get Together - Zug Bug & Renegade

This month's meeting will be Wednesday, Oct 9, 7-9pm at the Rod and Gun club house. As requested, we are going to tie a Zug Bug and while we're at it a Renegade as well.

This meeting is designed as learning / discussion type thing on any subject fly fishing. Where to go, rigging, knots, gear and accessory suggestions, making fun of Chris McCann or what ever else is on your mind.

Material list for Zug Bug:

• Hook - Standard nymph 12-16
• Thread - 8/0 70 denier
• Tail - Peacock sword (I have that)
• Body - Peacock tail barbs (tail feather)
• Rib - Silver tinsel medium or silver wire medium
• Legs - Partridge feather or hen feather in brown

Material list for Renegade:

• Hook - Standard dry fly hook 14-20. Get out of your comfort zone and try a 18 or 20
• Thread - 8/0 and thinner, 12/0 for the little guys
• Butt - Brown hackle sized to hook
• Body - Peacock herl
• Head - Hackle in white or cream sized to hook
