 September Fly Tying Get Together 

Fly Tying Get-Together - Wednesday, September 11 - Livermore Rod and Gun Club - 7 PM to 9PM

September's Get-together we will be tying a couple of caddis patterns. One will be a bubble wing caddis that Robert Nishio and I fished with  on a trip with Steve Acosta. The other will be a caddis pupa tied by Dave McPhail.

Material common to both flies

• Thread:     Brown 6/0 or 8/0
• Dubbing:  Simi seal or rabbit yellow, golden or your choice for the abdomen
•                    Simi seal or rabbit dark brown for thorax
• Legs:          Knotted pheasant tail or partridge
• Horns :      Bronze mallard flank or wood duck

Material for the Bubble Wing

• Hook:  standard or short shank nymph hook size 10 or 12
• Gold small tinsel 1/32"  
• CDC  cinnamon or natural or pale yellow

Material for the pupa

• Hook:   Czech nymph or caddis pupa  size14 
• Weight (optional) Flat sheet lead
• uni mylar clear  small 1/32"
• Brown marker
