 July Fly Tying Get Together 

Fly Tying Get-Together - Wednesday, July 17 - Livermore Rod and Gun Club - 7 PM to 9PM

At this month's "Get Together", I will touch on fly tying thread and tips on how  to control and get the most out of your thread. Secondly we will be making custom dubbing. Scrounge up some of the materials below and get creative.

Materials

Thread Discussion:   Assortment of different types of thread such as Danville flat wax nylon, mono cord, uni-thread, ultra thread, etc.  in 6/0 and 8/0

• Bring your tools and vice 
• Streamer hook #6, dry fly hook #12
• Buck tail
• Material to tie an elk hair caddis.

Dubbing Mix

• Coffee grinder, beard trimmer, 2- dog wire hair brushes
•  Hares mask, rabbit dubbing, any pelt with fur such as rabbit, muskrat, mink, fox, squirrel  etc.  Antron, acrylic yarn, ice dub.
•  Sparkle -  angle hair, ice dub, EP sparkle   any fine synthetic flash
•  Dubbing dispenser box,  very small zip lock bags (I will bring some)
