Feather River Guided Trip with a Local Guide

Event Skill Levels:

  • Fishing: Requires basic casting and line management skills.
  • Stream: Beginner to advanced
  • Wading: If you choose to wade, it is beginner to Intermediate.  Wading is not required.

The Feather River between Oroville and Gridley has one of the best steelhead runs in California. The spring run season is typically March and April as steelhead follow salmon spawning runs. Spring runoff and larger dam releases makes using a drift boat a preferred means of fishing this run.

We have made a discounted price arrangement with an experienced guide, Steve Acosta on the Feather River for multiple days in starting in March. The cost is $200 per person, and he will take you in a 2-angler drift boat on various sections of the Feather between Oroville and Gridley. These will be one day up and back trips. Based on this very favorable pricing you will have to bring your own lunch and assist with shuttling. He can provide rods and flies if you need them. We also recommend you bring your waders if you have them, as it may be advantageous to get out of the boat a few times to more thoroughly fish some riffle spots.  Wading is optional and not required.

We have the following dates reserved: March 25, 27, and 30, April 2 and 5 . If the date you want shows that it is filled, please sign up on the waitlist in the event someone cancels. You can sign up as a single person and we can pair you up with someone.

Please contact Alan Wyosnick for any questions regarding these outings.

TVFF Cancellation Policy:

To sign-up for a TVFF Event  that is currently open for registration and chargeable (as set by the Fishmeister), you must both register and pay online, or via check or cash, within two weeks of registering (sent to the TVFF Treasurer) whatever fee is described for that particular Event (trip) at the time of registration. There may be multiple payments required before the trip is actually taken (usually in the case of expensive trips), but it is necessary that you do make payment in the above timely fashion for the initial amount to secure your position on the trip.  However, please note that you are still responsible for the entire amount of the trip if you should need to cancel.

Once you are registered, there are no refunds for chargeable Events and trips.  In the situation that a member is, for any reason unable to attend, they may resell their registration slot to another TVFF member (by first pulling from the waitlist if one exists).  New participants must come first from the waitlist in the order they signed up.  The member cancelling is fully and solely responsible for contacting potential members to replace them and notifying the appropriate Fishmeister.

If an event/trip is fully registered and closed to registration, you may still sign up on the Wait List to be notified if there are any cancellations.  In such a case of registering provisionally on the Wait List, you do not have to pay until such time that you clear the Wait List and are confirmed for participation.
